Summary: The Hospice Administrator is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operations of a hospice organization, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining quality patient care, and driving operational and financial success. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic planning abilities, and a compassionate approach to end-of-life care.
Duties:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for hospice operations, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of care, efficiency, and financial sustainability.
- Supervise and support hospice staff, including nurses, social workers, chaplains, and administrative personnel, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and retention of staff to build a strong and competent team.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and referral sources to promote hospice services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum requirements: Licensed physician, a licensed registered nurse, a social worker with a bachelor’s degree, or a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of health care management experience or an individual with one (1) year of healthcare management experience and three (3) years of healthcare delivery experience that would be relevant to managing the day-to-day of operations of a hospice. - Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance policies related to hospice care.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with budgeting, financial management, and operational oversight.
