North Sunflower Medical Center offers cardiology services with Dr. J. Gray Bennett, Dr. William H. Crowder and Dr. J. Clay Hays, Jr. at the Cardiology Clinic. We also offer outpatient cardiology rehabilitation.
North Sunflower Medical Center also offers Nuclear Stress Testing to determine whether enough blood flows to your heart when it’s hard at work. Doctors usually use a stress test to help diagnose Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) or to see how serious this disease is in those who are known to have been diagnosed.
If you suffer from any of the following, you may qualify for stress testing:
- Chest Pain
- Shortness of Breath
- Coronary Artery Disease
- HTN
- S/P Stents
- S/P CABG
- If you’ve been diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease or recently had a heart attack, you may need stress testing to see whether you can tolerate an exercise program.
- Feel faint during exercise.
- Fluttering feeling in your chest
- Doctors say you have an abnormal EKG
- To see if treatment designed to improve blood flow in the heart’s arteries are necessary and likely to help you. These treatments include angioplasty (with or without stents) and coronary artery bypass grafting.
- To re-evaluate past treatments, such as, angioplasty and CABG.
- Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation available at The Beacon Wellness Center

Coronary Artery Disease
You may need a stress testing if you have Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) symptoms, such as, chest pain and shortness of breath. If you’ve been diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease or recently had a heart attack, you may have a stress test to see whether treatments aimed at improving blood flow in the heart’s arteries are needed and are likely to help you. Stress testing also is done on people who have signs of an arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat).
