Housekeeping Supervisor

Summary: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Environmental Services personnel to ensure a clean, safe, orderly, and welcoming environment throughout the facility. Assign and prioritize work based on operational needs, conduct routine inspections to verify quality and completion of assigned tasks, and promptly report any issues, concerns, or maintenance needs to the Department Head. Maintain strict confidentiality of all patients and resident information. Demonstrate exceptional customer service by communicating and interacting professionally and effectively with physicians, patients, residents, visitors, and staff while promoting a positive and service-oriented environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and support the daily activities of Environmental Services personnel.
- Assign, prioritize, and monitor work assignments to ensure efficient operations and high-quality service.
- Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to verify cleanliness, safety, and compliance with departmental standards.
- Ensure timely completion of all assigned duties and address any deficiencies or performance concerns.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and operational concerns to the Department Head.
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to staff on proper cleaning procedures, safety practices, and customer service expectations.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment and communicate replenishment needs as necessary.
- Promote and maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
- Respond promptly and professionally to requests, concerns, and service needs from residents, patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, teamwork, and leadership.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Department Head
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous housekeeping, environmental services, or custodial experience required.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, long-term care, or similar environment preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and equipment.
