Nursing Assistant

Summary: Looking for a nurse aide to provide quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse.

- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and functional under stressful conditions
- Interacts professionally with patients, family members, physicians, and co-workers
- Treats patients, family members and visitors to NSMC with respect and dignity
- Assists in admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients
- Takes and records vital signs – reports abnormal vital signs to a nurse – documents in the EHR as needed
- Measures and records height and weights of patients in the EHR upon admission and as needed
- Records fluid intake, food intake, and output as needed
- Care for patients environment by keeping room neat and free of “clutter”
- Make rounds on patients as frequently as needed
- Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and patient status – reporting any changes to a nurse
- Assist with dressing patients for activities, physical therapy and discharge
- Assists patients with toiletry – keeping patients clean and dry – changing linens/pads as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High school education or its equivalent is required
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant is preferred, but not required: on- the- job training is provided in patient care
- Prior experience as a Nursing Assistant is preferred for this position
