Summary: Prepare food for patients and residents under the direction and supervision of the Dietary Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items as indicated on menu for residents’ and patients’- breakfast meal, lunch meal and supper meal
- Assist in food preparation for any special meals served by the Dietary Department
- Serve patient trays with foods according to individual diet prescribed by physicians, honoring preferences within diet limits
- Prepare and assist with food preparation for following day as needed
- Clean and assist in cleaning work area and cooking utensils in department as needed
- Assist in dish room according to schedule and other times as instructed
- Fill in for Shift Supervisor as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- A High school education or its equivalent is preferred
- Prior experience as a cook or dietary aide is preferred for this position
