Human Resource Generalist

Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This role ensures accurate benefit administration, regulatory compliance, employee record maintenance, and support of employee relations processes. The HR Generalist serves as a resource for employees and leadership while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies.
Essential Functions:
- Administer employee benefit enrollment and scheduling
- Perform insurance reconciliations and ensure accurate reporting
- Coordinate employee appreciation initiatives and staff recognition programs
- Process and track FMLA requests in compliance with federal regulations
- Manage employee terminations and related documentation
- Administer COBRA notifications and documentation
- Oversee PERS processing and reporting
- Process employee status changes, name changes, and maintain accurate records within Citrix and HR systems
- Maintain documentation for jury duty and bereavement leave
- Assist with compliance testing and regulatory reporting requirements
- Maintain and audit personnel files to ensure completeness and compliance
- Complete employment verifications in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure confidentiality of all employee information
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- SHRM or PHR certification degree preferred
- 3–5 years of Human Resources experience
- Knowledge of FMLA, COBRA, benefit administration, and employment regulations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
