Pediatric Clinic RN

Summary:  Provides professional nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a pediatric clinic setting. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, obtaining health histories and vital signs, administering medications and immunizations, assisting healthcare providers with examinations and procedures, educating patients and families, coordinating care, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation. Performs duties in a manner consistent with Sunflower Rural Health Clinic policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Provides direct nursing care to pediatric patients and evaluates patient outcomes.
• Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population. 
• Obtains and documents patient histories, vital signs, growth measurements, and other pertinent clinical information.
• Assesses and reassesses patient symptoms, including pain, and educates patients and families regarding treatment plans and pain management.
• Maintains current knowledge of pediatric medications, immunizations, and age-appropriate clinical practices
• Administers medications, immunizations, injections, and treatments in accordance with provider orders and clinic policies.
• Assists physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments while maintaining medical and surgical asepsis.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in a clinic setting preferred
• Current RN licensure in the State of Mississippi and BCLS certification
• Must promote and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Administer injections, apply dressing changes and remove sutures
• Knowledge of electronic medical records
