Durable Medical Equipment Driver/Service Technician

Summary:  The Driver/Service Technician uses sales, service and educational skills to ensure safe delivery, setup and use of equipment and maintains the quality provider image for the company in the community.

• Develops and maintains working knowledge of current HME products and services and all applicable governmental regulations.
• Manages his/her territory to reach service goals and delivery of equipment and oxygen, as required, in accordance with industry standards and applicable governmental regulations including US Department of Transportation (DOT) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines.
• Educates customers in proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment in a home setting.
• Completes written client visit reports, following setup and follow-up visits, as required.
• Assists in resolving customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.
• Processes all orders in a timely, accurate manner.
• Promotes services and products to referral sources in the community, as appropriate.
• Develops basic reimbursement knowledge and completely documents all information necessary to ensure reimbursement for all appropriate equipment, products and services.
• Develops technical knowledge, as appropriate, of the HME or respiratory products and services provided by the company.
• Assists with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company, state and federal.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Possesses high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain necessary driver’s license.
• Must possess good driving record.
• Previous experience or successful completion of factory training seminar for home medical equipment preferred.
